Job Summary:

The Data Annotation Specialist plays a critical role in preparing and labeling data for machine learning and AI projects. This position involves understanding project requirements, accurately annotating data, and ensuring high-quality labeled datasets that meet the needs of the development teams. The Data Annotation Specialist should have a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of data annotation methodologies, and the ability to work efficiently and effectively to meet project deadlines.

What We're Looking For:

  • Data Annotation: Accurately and efficiently annotate data according to project specifications, including labeling, tagging, categorizing, and segmenting data.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure the accuracy and consistency of annotated data, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors.

  • Guidelines and Standards: Follow annotation guidelines and standards provided by the project leads, ensuring compliance with established protocols.

  • Data Preprocessing: Prepare data for annotation by cleaning, organizing, and formatting it as per project requirements.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the project team to clarify annotation requirements, address any questions or issues, and provide feedback on improving annotation guidelines.

  • Training and Onboarding: Assist in training and onboarding new annotation team members, ensuring they understand project requirements and annotation guidelines.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of the annotation process, including logs, reports, and records of completed tasks.

  • Communication: Effectively communicate with project leads and team members to provide updates on annotation progress, challenges, and recommendations.

  • Time Management: Manage workload and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines, working efficiently and effectively to deliver high-quality annotated data on time.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest annotation techniques, tools, and best practices, actively seeking opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, data science, or a related field.

  • Solid understanding of data annotation methodologies, guidelines, and best practices.

  • Attention to detail and a strong ability to maintain accuracy while working with large volumes of data.

  • Familiarity with data annotation tools and software, such as Labelbox, Prodigy, or custom annotation frameworks.

  • Basic knowledge of programming languages, such as Python or R, to assist in data preprocessing tasks.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve annotation challenges effectively.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet project deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple annotation tasks simultaneously.

  • Ethical Considerations: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data privacy and security protocols when handling sensitive or personal data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in data annotation or data labeling for machine learning or AI projects.

  • Familiarity with different types of annotations, such as image annotation, text annotation, or audio annotation.

  • Knowledge of specific domain-specific annotation requirements (e.g., medical imaging, autonomous vehicles, natural language processing).

  • Experience working with annotation platforms and tools, customizing workflows, and managing annotation projects.

  • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.
